I had hoped for Western part of Germany. Joint venture of Eifel Crew and HeinAir! :)

Yes, I heard Poland too. The Western part of Germany has the same problem as the Netherlands, difficult to find a suitable location for a reasonable price.
We need millionaires with big mansions on this forum! :)

Lubin is off the table as far as Poland is concerned.

Another location might come up.

Who is busy trying to make a bid for Sensible Days 2019?
Is somewhere else in Poland still a realistic possibility? Are there other countries?

i really would like to do such stuff in germany, but family tasks are currently too much. hopefully 2020 should work.

do we have some other interestes than poland, denmark or netherlands ?
they did great jobs last times, but I wont like to give them too much work in small time.

well if they want, they can do ;)

Exactly. So, is someone preparing a bid?
If necessary we can always try and find something in Holland again, but I'd have to check with the Dutch crew first.

+/- 5, yes... Sleeping places shouldn't be farer away than a 2-3min walk (eg Budapest 2017). Common sense!

It's hard to do that from this distance!
Checked website.... 40 players, full meals etc... see attachment. Last weekend in July.

The price is superb.

So Fulda is an option, if someone in Germany (Eifel-Crew, HeinAir, HairFU, whoever?) would like to take control or help out?!

Thanks Rock, that's great. Sure, would love to team up once again.
I've sent Dirk an E-Mail. He is still in charge of the youth hostel.

The youth hostel is free in that date. I will proceed and see which price he asks for.

I roughly calculated, but it could be that a total of 150 Euro per person is needed.
That includes:
- Location, food, cups & medals, and some SWOS general running costs! :P

Good to see the Fulda option becoming close to reality. GJ Playa! :)

Oh yes...  Sauerkraut Cup!!! I love Sauerkraut....  That has to be it! Also, Fulda is just South of the so called "Weisswurst boarder"! That works..

Update on progress:
Just exchanged last emails with Dirk.

This time, we only can have the one big room where we played in last time, but not the other one next to it which saw the KO-matches and ceremonies.
That's ok, I think... we can do everything in one conference room. It's big enough, and we're not likely to be 62 players again! Up to 40 are easy to handle in this room.

Dirk wanted to give us another small conference room in addition, downstairs in the new building with 36 m². But I told him we don't need it.
So when that's off the bill, I am ready to sign the documents.

Confirmation and announcement are just one step away.

For those who have missed 2009:

Last major update:

There would be no booking options for people available.
Everyone would have to pay 125 Euro in advance. That includes 3 overnights and full meal supplies. (few extra Euros calculated for cups & medals etc.)

ATTENTION: We are NOT allowed to bring our own beer. So you would have to buy boxes of beer from the youth hostel (fair prices), on top of your 125 Euro!

There is no room to negotiate! That's the final offer!

Feel free to discuss this.

PS: Booking option expires on 31st Jan. So we have two weeks time to consider.

We used to have better deals in the past but since it seems to be the only option we should go for it. I'd rather pay bit more than not go to Days at all.

Unless someone comes with another bid.

Sounds good Philipp, you have my vote!

I think back in 2009 the tournament fee was as low as 75 euros for all weekend including food, excluding beers, so yeah a direct comparison it is much more expensive but it was good overall so I don't have many concerns. I agree with lobo.

Hehe if I remember correctly, the place heavily underestimated the beer intake of the weekend and ran out quite early. I think it was only after that we would buy more from the local stores. So let them know they better be properly prepared this time! ;)

Best location for Sensi Days is Eastern Europe imo: Most participants and best prices. However, as there is obviously no other option this year, Fulda sounds good. We cannot compare prices from 2009 with 2019.

The date isn‘t the best one for Eifel Crew though, because of the annually local football tournament in Sistig on that weekend. So we have to check if and how we can support with hardware and we probably won’t be there on Friday evening.

Question is: are there any other bids?
The Netherlands isn't going to bid for 2019. We would only try to organize it this year if there were no other bids.
We probably will try to bid for the 2020 edition.

Quite a few posts here have asked for bids, and this is the only serious option we've seen.
I'd say we can decide this way before the deadline.
It's either this deal or no deal I guess.
That or we can ask for an extension to article 50 ;).

I'd say go for it.

Fulda is a fantastic location. My first SensiDays ever in 2009 :)

I cannot speak for the whole Polish community (or maybe I can a bit) but I don't think there will be Polish bid for 2019. There were some VERY initial talks to hold it in the Southern Poland. And in that case I was about to be one of the responsible organizers, but due to some personal/professional issues it is just impossible for me this year. I really hope we can prepare a bid for 2020, so given the Dutch guys (Rock) announcement we could have a much more interesting competition to choose from.

Yet again - this year I am happy to support Fulda's bid. It will be great :)
