Title: Eifel-X-Mas-Cup 2014
Post by: AndYpsilon on 07 August 2014, 20:25:02
Hallo zusammen,

Regeln: Freie Teamwahl, random pitch, equal off, Spieldauer: 3 Minuten.

K.O.-Runden: 2 Spiele, extra-time if replay, penalties if replay

The date is for sure. By the way most players joining international tournaments can adapt both gameplays nowadays
so the discussion PC or AMIGA is really oldschool in my opinion ;)

The Eifel is and will be a stronghold of PC SWOS in Germany. Cause of my own experiences I give you the advice: Don't use the word "Amiga" on this tournament. ;)

Hehe, thanks all you guys for your interest in our tournament. Really nice to see that the Eifel-X-Mas-Cup, started as a
small local cup back in 2005, attracts more and more international attention.

However, with two Bulgarian players, three Danish guys, Pspin and already a lot of German players who have signed up
or soon will sign up we have to stop the signing up possibility for this tournament. We're sold out for now :)

To be honest we cannot offer more sleeping places than we already did because the infrastructure of this cup doesn't really
provide the possibility to organize an international tournament as big as this year's Sensi Days.

Maybe we'll do some bigger cup at another place in summer one day with so many players interested - we'll see.

However, shouldn't be that much.

Now 2 spots left in this pension.

Deleted Klaris from the list, added Nikola Popoff.

24 players will be the definite maximum for this cup (there are some local players still thinking about a participation).
With three groups of 6 to 8 players we should be able to create a valid time shedule for the tourni.

Damn Im looking forward to play some offline SWOS with you guys again. Eventhough it is PC-SWOS. As a all-time sensi days  best defender (in average), I will give a beer to the first one who will score against me hehe  :P

well a good bet would be to give a beer to all who can score against you ...

then i would do give a beer to all who gets a point vs me

if we are in same group, then its the beer group :D

what about 2 big groups but only one match ? like in prague 2008 or so ...

for me that would be ok and interesting, because one match could rise more surprises .... and you have more opponents :)

the only thing is, long breaks ...
Title: Re: Eifel-X-Mas-Cup 2014
Post by: ElMichaJ on 10 November 2014, 11:52:20
other idea

1) 3 groups of (up to) 8 players with 2 matches
2a) 1 supergroup with best 8 players 1 match
2b) 1 middle group with next 8 players 1 match
2c) 1 looser group with rest players and 2 matches
3a) supergroup and middle group meet in KOs (last 16)

We will work out something that will offer enough fun and matches for everybody ;)

But probably 2 big groups with only one match against each other is no option.

If you aim for knockouts with top 16, here is a bracket system for it:
http://www.printyourbrackets.com/fillable-brackets/16-seeded-fillable-single-elimination.jpg

If you need inspiration for supergroup & 2nd chance system check Nordic Open 2 out here:
http://www.sensiblesoccer.de/community/tournaments/view/1394/matches

Im sure it will be great regardless of the format. Looking forward to it next month. :)

Hi Escher. Thanks a lot for your interest. Unfortunately I have to tell you that we really have no sleeping possibilities left.
At the moment a sleeping place would only be free if someone cancels his participation.

At the moment it looks like we'll have 21-24 players.

Thus, the tournament mode will be like this:

- 3 groups of 7-8 players (first 5 of each group and the best 6th place qualify for the ko-round)
- ko-round last 16 (2 matches, ET if replay, pens if replay)
- quarter final (2 matches, ET if replay, pens if replay)
- semi final (2 matches, ET if replay, pens if replay)
- match for the third place (2 matches, ET if replay, pens if replay)
- final (2 matches, ET if replay, pens if replay)

We will play for every single place, so the people who are out in one round will have some placement matches afterwards (like in the years before).

People who don't have a custom tactic may use any tactic available. Exception: If you play against the creator of the tactic you may only use it with his permission.

AMIGA tournament: If we get all the equipment, there will be an AMIGA cup afterwards.
Tactic rule like at Sensi Days: Home player chooses, if the match is played with or without custom tactic.
However, every player may only use ONE custom tactic during the tournament. People who don't have a custom tactic may use any tactic available. Exception: If you play against the creator of the tactic you may only use it with his permission.

Starting time on saturday is 13:00. Drawing of the groups will be earlier to have enough time to set up the groups.

Thx for a really nice tournament. Great location for SWOS-playing. It looked like some place where you could have "after skiing" :P. Of course it was great to see you guys again and to meet - for me - new SWOS-players like SWOS-HOOL and PSPIN and all the other local SWOS players.

My only complain is about having 3 groups instead of e.g. 4 to make the knock-out stage more fair. But on the other hand you were playing more matches with only three groups.

We had a safe trip back home to Denmark, but im feeling a bit tired today at work.

Also congratz to Marin with the title. Eventhough he injuried Beteto and Aldair within 4 minutes of the first semifinale against me  :o  ;)

Congratz to AndyPsilon with 2nd place and for some great matches in group stage. You know how it is to be second in the tournament  8)

Congratz to ElMichaJ with 3rd place. You did a good job against me in 3rd place match, mate. Your win was never to discussion.

Hmmm, somehow I am NOT surprised... ;)

Three groups are difficult indeed but with 4 groups it's probably even more difficult to create an exciting groupstage.
We knew about the exact number of participants only seconds before the start - I hope people decide 2 days earlier next year  :)
However, we probably won't do the same system again next time.

Also congratz to Marin with the title. Eventhough he injuried Beteto and Aldair within 4 minutes of the first semifinale against me  :o  ;)

Hehe, yes. The famous Berlin- and Marin-style :) In the first final-match I should have gotten a penalty after 10 minutes. However, that's SWOS.
I started tackling a lot in the second match as well - and it worked better :)

Congratz to AndyPsilon with 2nd place and for some great matches in group stage. You know how it is to be second in the tournament  8)

Thanks man. I do. And I always enjoy our matches - online or offline.
However, it seems that we both collect a lot of 2nd and 4th places - we only changed positions comapred to ISSA XXI this time ;)

I really enjoyed the Eifel X-Mas Cup. Superb atmosphere, great organization, and good games. Congrats to Marin, AndYpsilon and ElMichaJ for taking top3. Although it was a long trip for me and Andib, I would definitely consider to join next time too.

I can't really complain about the outcome of the results, I lost in the QF to my mate Andib who played better than me this time and deserved his spot in the semis. Too bad he couldn't make it one step further in the tournament, but Marin was the deserved tournament winner for sure.

The last couple of KO games was recorded, and I will upload them to YT per usual at some point during this month.

2nd time attending Eifel Cup. 2nd time enjoyed it very much.

Well organized, thrilling international atmosphere and exciting matches again.
The good old Bitburger for 1€, Pizza and Salad fast and good delivered from the local suppliers... Nothing to complain.

Postcard overview with 5cm snow and bright sunlight when leaving on Sunday - perfect view for christmas  ;D Roads were clear though.

Crazy games like the 9-16place groupstage game vs my mate HeinAir with the final goal in 89. minute. Next time it's your turn, Manuel.  :)
Biggest defeat vs. Marin was 0-6 - biggest win vs. SWOS-Hool 6-0 direct after the Marin game... :-)
First time beating Paider offline on PC with a dirty 1-0 in 89. minute. Paider took his revenge afterwards with a 2-1 win.

It was good to see all you SWOS Maniacs again and in the meantime it's like coming home for me when entering an event... Feels like there never was a break since the last tournament ended.  ;)

My special thanks go to:
HeinAir & McTobsen for picking me up in Duisburg.
Paider & Thomas for the sleeping place and and excellent breakfast.
ElMichaJ for taking me home safely and Schulle for the entertainment during the ride. :-)

...and finally the Eifel Crew (AndYpsilon, Paider, Klinki) for the organisation.

CU again 2015.

I just want to say a big THX to the organizers and our traditional host for sleeping place!  ;)

It was my 3rd participation, exacltly two years ago I started my "off-career" at Eifel-Cup 2012 and impressed by the fantastic atmosphere many more succeeded. I missed my aim to be one of the first 10, but a match takes 90 instead of 89 minutes. But SWOS-life will go on.  ;)
