Judging by the comments on the eurogamer link, the whole thing seems to have backfired. Not so confident about the future of this project anymore.

Really? What makes you think that? I think Jon is dealing with publishers at the mo, that's the impression I get anyway.

Just because it's the first real exposure on a mainstream site, which is what we were gunning for. But a large proportion of the comments seem to be rather negative for one reason or another. Towards the game, towards the kickstarter and even towards Hare's personally.

Hardly a big enough sample to draw a scientific conclusion, but just a shame it didn't get a more positive response.

Not sure why this is it's own thread, rather than pegged onto the original thread. Anywho...

I can see what you're saying Paul, but Jon knows his market, the comments on Eurogamer won't mean much to him. They're just keyboard warriors, if Sociable Soccer comes out and it's bloody fantastic (as I think we all hope) then I can't imagine those buffoons turning their back on the game because it has a slightly pants name, or due to Jon's political views on UKIP. They'll all buy it as quickly as we will; the future of the game is in Jon's capable hands, not a bunch of anonymous goons on an otherwise fairly sub-par gaming website.

Guess they're busy developing the game, rather than shouting about it from the rooftops. I'm sure we'll all know about it when they have something to show.

According to Jon's birthday tweet 'it is looking great'.
"IT'S NOT ABOUT THE LONG BALL OR THE SHORT BALL. IT'S ABOUT THE RIGHT BALL."

Hey guy's,

I'm the new CM for Sociable Soccer and I wanted to introduce myself. I've worked on Konami's PES (2008-2011) before I was contacted by Jon and developer SamiV to be involved in this two weeks ago. I was in Helsinki, Finland last week where the game is being developed. I played many games and it's like the old games especially when it comes to the passing which I think they nailed. The game is naturally in a very young state but the programmers are extremely experienced so I sat there chatting with different people and sometimes one of the programmers just blurted out, "look at this" and there was a new addition to the development. I also played SWOS to compare the two games, but like I said. The most important thing is the feel of the passing game and they've got that down already. I'll be updating you guy's continuously. We're on our way!

/Caniggia

I'll be taking on the twitter and the FB accounts, so any questions ask them there. I'll be popping in here regularly also to ask and answer your questions. See you around.

Looks good to me :) Will be watching with interest - do you know if a co-op mode has been confirmed by the way? i.e. 2 players vs the AI?
