You can go ahead and do something like that if you like. It just fits the original el salvador league structure and is small enough not to need packing for Amiga version. The reason I don t consider doing it for my release is that every time I make a change to the chosen 16 at a club, which is often due to user feedback, I would have to perform the reverse change in the reserves league. This could quickly get messy. I am very happy with the classics league being there, personally. It s also not so simple to make the data extract as as the spreadsheet doesn t know which 16 were selected last time it was imported.

Oh and the all stars league is only retired players hence there are no clashes with players in the rest of the db.

Really nice! Many thanks. There s a couple of discrepancies in the MLS teams (I suspect Sounders fans would clamour to have Fucito in the lineup instead of Jaqua, for example), but nothing major.

I will fix any things like this if you guys send me the info. It was built on very rigid data after all. Perhaps not that one though; Jaqua has a similar amount of game time to Fucito this season, as well as a higher transfermarkt value and the advantage of being a forward (which I normally give to allow for SWOS small squads without having too many forwards missing).

edit: actually I can include him instead of Zakuani and reshuffle the midfield. Will be fixed in next release (don t know when that will be out though).

Is it possible to change the number of rounds teams play vs each team? Denmark uses 3 rounds IRL, where in SWOS it is set to 4 rounds.

It is, but I m not sure that an odd number will work. I think it could crash the game (for example, an odd number of teams in any league crashes the game... no SWOS leagues have odd numbers of teams or rounds by default). I will try it, and set it to 3 in the next release if it works.

Hi Guys,

I got some spare time and created a small tool to print / filter swos database contents (new or old)

Linux and Windows binaries are attached.
*** Updated; Version V0.8
* Added quick documentation
*** Updated; version 0.7
* added field position numbers (rather than just the numbers of the players)

*** Updated; version 0.6
* Added more fields to the csv output (team formation, shirtnumbers etc)

*** Updated; version 0.5 now!!
* Changes as proposed by Sync implemented (fixes added player looks )
* Small bugs fixed (robustness improved I hope)
* option csv now only prints 1 header
General Usage:
--------------
swosscan [print options] [filters] teamfilename ... print one file only
swosscan [print options] [filters] all ... print all files

Print Options:
--------------
csv ... csv output format
csvno ... csv output format no header
club ... print clubs only
hex ... hex dump of complete file contents

Filters:
--------
Pn Vn Hn Tn Cn Sn Fn ... list players with at least n for these skills
G LB RB D M LW RW A ... list players with given position only
+value ... list players at least as expensive as value
-value ... list players cheaper than or equal to value

Examples:
---------
swosscan S5 TEAM.025 ... list players from one file with speed =5
swosscan RW LW P6 F4 all ... list all wingers with passing =6 finishing =4
swosscan +80k A H2 all ... list all attackers =80k, heading =2
swosscan -2m G all ... list all goalies of 2m or less
swosscan csv all db.csv ... dump all players in csv database db.csv

You have to be in a command shell and you have to be in the DATA directory if you start the tool.

Regards,
Zicozico

Excellent :)

The 3 rounds thing seems to work fine btw, so Denmark and Scotland will only have 3 rounds in v1.1. Is there anyone else where 4 rounds is now too much?

Amazing work.

Couple of things to look at from this version:
- Is it possible to output the players appearance? as 1=blond, 2=dark hair, 3=dark skin?
- San Marino is now Bosnia-H., not Croatia
- Venezuela league name is currently Venezuala
- Australia and New Zealand have been split up into different leagues; might be best to replace these with other if you can t easily split them similarly
- Currently all national teams say the league is other when it might be better to say National Teams or similar

Here is a CSV with all the data that is in the game itself in v1.0, with actual SWOS attributes, then (I have addressed these couple of things manually for now). This is also VERY useful for me in terms of assessing the existing database and cleaning bits up. Great work Zico!

Hi Sync,

Thanks for your comments!
I ll fix the issues you found and implement the player looks feature probably by tomorrow afternoon.

I m happy the tool works for you under Windows as well (I developed it under Linux and only quickly tested under Windows after cross-compilation)

I have some time these days so it s OK if you ask for features / fixes in order to make a tool that is as useful for you as it is for me!

Regards,
Zico
