All I can suggest is trying some of the suggestions I ve made, like checking system files using SFC etc. You could try re-installing some VB files as in the article below:

dll-repair-tools.com/dll/is-msvbvm60dll-...-for-visual-basic-60

R: Is not compatible with Windows Vista :-[

To make it easier, I ve zipped the install executable from the cab file, here:

www.mediafire.com/?ttq2rqutn4iwlsx

Just unzip the installer and run. Reboot and see if you can run the SensiStarter. If I can replicate the fault, I ll let you know, but otherwise I m out of ideas I m afraid...

:)

R: I install Reboot and the error still appears. :-[

Hey AnimalBear,

the more I read up on these errors the more I suspect an issue with your PC, but I m not sure how you can fix it to be honest. It appears that the VB runtime files aren t working correctly, the tricky part is reinstalling in Vista, as the runtime files come pre-installed...

Have you run the SFC scan? Also, I realise you may not be in the position to try it, but if I was having the issue, I d probably image my entire drive, then perform a clean-install of Windows, drivers etc, then install the game, and see if it happens on a clean install...

Obviously, reinstalling Windows may seem a little extreme, and probably isn t an option for you, but it s the sort of issue that you could throw hours of time at, and still be no further ahead. I work in IT and we come across strange software issues all the time, and sometimes a clean install is the only way to rule out other factors, like third party applications, corrupted system files, dlls, drivers etc.

Here s another article with some info that might be of interest:

www.ultrahal.com/community/index.php?topic=7775.0

I ll keep looking, but I just can t get the same error...

SFC scan not working on vista i can´t install.
I try to put that code as admin on cmd regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\MSCOMM32.OCX not working too.
I use Uniblue Register, CCleaner and nothing fix it :-[
My Disc have some protection on wow64 it can´t do nothing if i have a reinstall the game.
Some error have and need to be fixed it s a Runtime error missing something.
Microsoft need is to make a full DVD or CD for fix this issues without making a new install of Vista.

Hi AnimalBear,

rather than a clean install of Vista, you could try a repair install, which might be worth a try, as it should fix any corrupt/changed standard system files, but will keep your data and settings. I found a fairly detailed post on the subject, so if nothing else works, and you still want to try to get the apps running, it s another option without resorting to a clean install:

Thanks man but i will save all my files on my computer and some day i will reinstall the PC.
I uninstall the patch and the game.
Before that i receive a blue screen and i need to restore the point to fix that.
Now it s fixed but this error from run time error will be fixed when i make a new install of Vista.

Thank you.

Regards

No worries AnimalBear.

Like I said earlier, if you wanted to play the game with some of the mods you could still do it, just use the seperate mods without the sensistarter, (so use the AI mod, sound mod, camera mod etc).

If I ever replicate the issue I ll have another look, but otherwise I d recommend waiting until you need to do a repair, or even an upgrade to Windows 7!
