could it be a result of different strength of aftertouch you are able to add on those two systems?

I m still on the theory that pitch resolution is the key to that. Code always wants to keep ball centered, at all times.
If you see more of the pitch (Amiga), the ball (and code) has to catch up with that, being pushed further a little and being passed with more power or strength as you said.
Change resolution -- change gameplay to some extend!

Ok, just out of interest, I ve included XBLA SWOS to the menu.
Interesting outcome... XBLA is NOT Amiga!

CHECK HERE

This would support the resolution-change-effects-gameplay theory!

PC DOS XBLA Amiga -- That is for resolution and also shot lenght! (measured by straight goalkick).

Playaveli do you think that resolution will affect the speed of the players ?
I am playing amiga and xbla version very often , for fast players in amiga you can see they are fast while in xbla version that feeling is minimal.

I am not talking about the speed . As you see on the screenshot, it s only abouit the ball behaviour / ball physics.
Speeding up things is not a problem, just increase frame-rate.

i am talking about difference in the speed between players that have very high speed as a skill and the one that dont. It is much different on amiga and xbla. So you are saying it is just matter of frame-rate adjustment

Correct! We have done experiments with the win32 port. To increase game speed is not the problem.

I didn t play AMIGA Swos that much in the past as it was way easier to edit and play the PC version.
I tested and played it sometimes in the past but not that carefully.
After reading this post, I decided to play it properly, to verify if the game is more challenging as PC version has become awfully easy for me.. I can easily win against big teams with very crap teams and scoring a lot of goals with very average players.

I have to say, I m impressed. The Amiga version is WAY better for a lot of things:
1) gameplay is faster and smoother without being flipper-like
2) the game is harder, I can t score easily and it s really funny to play against cpu
3) keepers are better
4) physics of the ball are better
5) player movements are fluid and also headers are better (both diving and still)
6) AI is better: opponent team actually play and they don t just throw the ball on the other side of the pitch
7) 4 and 6 provide that game is less predictable and more enjoyable
8 ) shots are longer and more enjoyable to execute.
9) GK move around the whole box, not just covering the goal and acting like a.. windshield wiper
