Hi there!

has anyone managed to get the game running on Steam Deck without installing Windows? Is it possible to run it on the version of Linux they’re using?

Thanks in advance!

I tried it in my Steam Deck and it runs great as far as I checked, with some small flaws:

* As I have to run the game without the launcher to be able to use Gamescope, SWOS shows the intro logos. Is there a way of skipping them? Maybe using a command line flag?
* We have to run the game in 1280x720, which is slightly below 1280x800 resolution of Steam Deck. It would be nice to add 16:10 resolutions to SWOS 2020.
* I configured XInput as the main input control, Deck's keypad works great but analog sticks behave weird, I guess some adjustments are required.

The easiest way to install SWOS 2020 on Deck is to install it on another PC, setting it up according to Deck's specs (resolution, controls, etc.) and copy the installation folder to the Deck internal storage or microSD, then add it manually to Steam. Don't forget to check the "use compatibility mode" property, so the game is run using the Proton compatibility layer.

This might help you out in terms of setting up the default options without the launcher!

Hi there,
Many thanks for coming back on this and apologies for not replying sooner, the notifications had gone in to my spam folder! ☹️

I’m not very familiar with using Linux so I’m struggling a bit to get this set up. I installed it on my Windows PC then copied the whole SWOS directory over on to the desktop on the Deck - from there though I’ve no idea how to then get it running. Any help would be much appreciated and apologies for my lack of knowledge on this!

Many thanks,
Matt

Hello to everyone,

It was easier for me installing the AMIGA version!...but i have some questions!

1) Is it normal, I do not see any money values for each player or did I do anything wrong?

2) I can only use the D-Pad, which is not so senstive!...is there any possibility to get the -Stick working?

Thank you very much for helping!.

1) Money values are only visible in career mode! Not friendly or DIY tournaments.

Hey,

Thank you playaveli...I have already solved the matter, I did not choose properly "career" mode, now it works.

But I have still have 1 big issue:

- I have installed it in the AMIGA PPUAE as HDF file, downloaded from here, this website.
1) In career mode, I cannot save anything, since it always says "No Disk drive df0"!!

I researched in itnernet and in the official retroarch/PUAE page, they just talk about how to creadte adf, inserting it as part of the m3u file...but no mentioned about HDF type!

Did not the sensible TEAM here add an empty disk drive df0?...how can I add it on my own?

Thank you for helping.

I play using the .HDF in WinUAE on a PC frequently. I created a blank .ADF and make sure the emulator knows it is inserted into DF0 and then it will save normally. How to do this will be different on the different versions of UAE, but there is likely some sort of option to insert a floppy in PUAE.

I actually haven't tried using save states because of rumors that save states get corrupted with hard drive games, but that may just be WHDLoad related.
