OK...

GARY NEVILLE has retired and NAOKI MATSUDA has left his club.

Probably the only remaining players in addition to the above list, to join the last men standing, are:
ROGERIO CENI - SAO PAULO 1992-date
MARCOS - PALMEIRAS 1992-date
OKA NIKOLOV - EINTRACHT FRANKFURT 1994-date
ALEKSANDR SHOVKOVSKY - DINAMO KIEV 1993-date

Unfortunately doesn t count:
NOEL BAILIE (Linfield s number 11 on SWOS 96/97) played there since 1989 and only just retired (April 30)

(the rest of the players listed here are either not on SWOS (usually because their club isn t on SWOS 96/97) or were already mentioned above)

first post updated

some icons, who retired earlier added...

remember the rules:
1. player on a club s roster in SWOS 96/97
2. player never transferred to another club since then

some remarks so far:
- pity Real M. let Raul go... (personally I hate Real, but Raul is a real icon)
- pity Scholes was not included in SWOS

updated for 2011/2012 (assumption: they retire in 2012)

some actual rules added in first post

NOTES:

- can anyone beat Maldini to the top of this list? (come on Giggsy!) :)
- can you find any other players who meet the criteria? (in SWOS, never changed club afterwards, played at least 10 seasons there)
