Hi all,

I ve installed many of Tommyboo, Muzzer EreWeGo s mods for the PC version of SS2006 to my Xbox (from the excellent Sensible Mods site), but I can t seem to get all of them working. Obviously, I know that they re really intended for the PC version..

For example, while I ve now updated the player names and camera, the team names are still wrong (ie London Blue), and the crd_en1.big hasn t done anything to help the atmosphere.

I ve seen that there s a Megapatch v4 for the PC version, but I was wondering if anyone had assembled the same thing for the Xbox version of the game?

As always, any help is greatly appreciated :)

Hey Stevie boy, if I remember correctly, applying updates, like real-team names may be a little different on the XBox version. I was sure there was an XBox real-name mod somewhere, but buggered if I can remember where I saw it?

Some of the mods designed for PC just don t work for XBox, such as the sound mod. This is because the file format used on XBox is different. I did have a brief look at this once, and tried converting the sound files. It looked like it should ve worked, but just didn t. I didn t bother working on it further because there wasn t the interest to be honest... :(

I might have another look when I get a chance, would be nice to have the XBox version modded like the PC one.

If I find the real team names fix, I ll let you know mate!

Hey Steve-o mate,

found the file for the Real Names for XBox! I forgot that Synchronated did the initial Real Name patch, and his download includes instructions and the files needed for the XBox version too! Just download the real name patch from Tomis Sensible Mods site:

(Look at the bottom of the list)

I ll let you know if I get round to looking at the other stuff...

Thanks buddy, I updated my version with that file of yours EreWeGo, but then I found an even more recent one by Synchronated which was in the MegaPatch v4! I think it was for the 09/10 season :)

I actually installed everything from MegaPatch v4 to my Xbox, but the only things that seem to have updated are the camera mods, and the teams. I ve got updated kits now too actually, which is pretty sweet. It s really just the sound that is bugging me now - the atmosphere is terrible.

I installed your updated sound files too but like you said I don t think it has any effect at all, which is a bit of a shame... it s weird, because the filenames seem to be exactly the same for the sound files (crd_en1.big), so you d think that replacing it would do the trick.

Hey Steve-o mate,
hehehe, nice find. Yes, the sstweaks.txt is the file we messed about with for the AI mods etc, although in the PC version this file is inside the kits.big file. It s quite complex, in the sense that we found a lot of the settings have No effect whatsoever, and if you change something in one area, it can upset the balance in other parts of the game. Also, we had no reference for some of the numbers, as in we didn t have a range to use for a particular setting, ie: did the range go from 1 to 10, or 1 to 100?

We spent HOURS messing about with it, but feel free to have a go with the Xbox one, just BACKUP the file first! :)

I did copy over one of the mods from the PC version once to the xbox, but found the effects were different on the xbox, so you could use some of the settings from the PC mods, but it might take some further tweaking to get it right.

As far as the sound files, although they have the same names,(crd_en1.big for example), they actually have the sound files inside them. On the PC they are all .wav files, but on the xbox, they are .wma in one file, and an xbox-format .wav in another, (the xbox .wav is NOT the same as the PC ones). I actually had a play the other night, and have converted some files, I just have to test them to see if they work. I ll let you know how I get on.


If you look in the ini folder on the xbox, you should see a view.ini file, this is the camera view settings, but these can be a bit confusing to edit at first as well. Maybe have a look at a PC one first...

Anyway, good luck, will post anything if I have some luck with the sound...

Hey buddy!

Yeah, I ve replaced the view.ini file a few times now, finally settling on one with the same camera but with less wobble, which is ideal for me.

Let me know how you get on with your testing of the new sound files mate, as I think this is the main area I d be interested in messing with. The rest of the game seems pretty sweet and my girlfriend already prefers playing it to FIFA (that s my kind of lady!) hehe!

Hey Steve-o mate,

well, I think I ve cracked it! I did a fair bit of testing and research, finally found the right codec to convert the files to the .wma and ACM wav files for the XBox. I then had to test, as on the PC the ambience part of my sound mod has an 8 minute looping wav file. Even when converting to the XBox, it would hang the game. I found that converting using the correct codec, and shortening the track to 5 minutes allowed the game to run. I tested with both parts of the mod, and not to blow my own trumpet, but it does make a HUGE difference.

Anyway, copy the two files below to your Audio directory for Sensible Soccer 2006 on your XBox, and let me know how you get on!
