Max squad size issues

Hi folks reconnecting with my youth from
90’s here so downloaded the pc version called swos2020. No matter what I do when i buy players they overwrite
players rather than add. I can see them
when i go to training and view b team but there doesnt seem
to be a way to get then across. I tried to use hex editors which was painful to change squad size but no matter what i cannot seem to get to a place where I can switch players into non b team status? Is this just something that cant be done
