Editing Player skills & creating the 3-letter-code

There are some theories how SWOS creates the 3-letter-code (e.g. A Hristo Stoichkov, Barcelona: FCP) that appears  behind every player to show their strengths.

I discovered through editing player skills that these are wrong.

Just to remember: the player ratings from 0-15 are not a linear scale! There are only 8 skill levels with 0=8, 1=9,...,7=15 !!

So how does SWOS create the 3-letter-code?

1. The three highest Skills:
If you have three skills with e.g. 7,6 and 5 and the other four are e.g. 3 then the 3-letter-code will show the three highest skills.

2. What does SWOS do when skills are equally rated?
Then SWOS has a hierarchy list for every field player position.

POSITION HIERARCHY

D               T/H P S V C F       - For D SWOS interchanges T with H and H with T in the 3-letter-code (e.g. T=7 H=3 S=4 V=4  -- HSV)  but NOT in the gameplay !!!Don t know why, seems to be a bug.

LB/RB    S/T P V H C F

M      P/T C H V S F

LW/RW     S/C P T H F V

A       H/F S V C P T

Now lets show some examples:

A  George Weah, AC Milan:
P   V   H   T   C   S   F       3-letter-code
15  15  15  7  15  15 15              F H S
A       H/F S V C P T   -- Every skill has highest rating with 15 (=7), so  H and F take the first two spots and  S the third spot.

A Allesandro Del Pierro, Juve
P   V   H   T   C   S   F       3-letter-code
15  15  7   7   15  7 15              H F S
A       H/F S V C P T  -- Same as Weah, both have  H=15 and F=15 but here H takes the first and F the second spot (seems to be a random choice).
Here you can see that ratings from 8-15 have no higher priority than 0-7.Otherwise H and S wouldn t appear in the 3-letter-code.

A  Hristo Stoichkov, Barcelona
P   V   H   T   C   S   F       3-letter-code
15  14   2   3  15  14 15             F C P
A       H/F S V C P T  -- Highest skills are P, C F. The hierarchy is F C P

D Matthias Sammer, Bor.Dortmund
P   V   H   T   C   S   F       3-letter-code
15  7    6  15  15  6   5         H P V
D               T/H P S V C F   -- Highest skills with 15(=7) are P, V, T, C. The hierarchy should be T P V C, so the 3-letter-code would be T P C. But SWOS interchanges T with H in the 3-letter-code!

Conclusion:

1. Rating values from 8-15 don t exist because of representing strengths in the 3-letter-code!

2. The 3-letter-code is created by the three highest skills and a skill hierarchy depending on each field player position!

Hope I could help you!

Letters also change if you create a custom team by importing eg. Brazil and only change the names skin/hair color, sometimes.
So there is also a little random-factor.

I am wondering, is a player who has S in his 3-letter code faster than a player who doesn t have it? I am asking this in case both players have the same value for Speed.

I doubt it matters. A 15 is always a 15 (or a 7 is always a 7).
Okay, unless the player got severely injured.
