Would I be right in saying we have 2 different data sets?
1. Works with the original amiga/pc swos
2. Works with the updated pc exe file
If so, what precisely are the requirements for the new exe? I d like to write an exporter that can verify the data for either format.

Yep, that s absolutely my understanding. The two executable files need editing for the Amiga/PC updates. It seems (from Playa) that the team data files are not transferable either. Marin seems to think that they are, so it might be worth asking him. In my experience though, I tried to run the PC England update on the Amiga version of Total Pack and it crashed.
Total Pack is an amazing launcher, but I don t know it Starwindz is contactable any more.. :\ From what I can gather, once you select which data set you want to use, Total Pack creates a .hdf file which it then launches through the back end of WinUAE. It s super clever!

Yeah it s absolutely fantastic what these guys have done with it. I have only experimented and am not a regular player like a lot of folk here, but I do enjoy programming tools
Would be nice to get it nailed down to be able to write a universal editor/exporter.

I think SWOSFFF does pretty much that, doesn t it? I know you can load and save exe files for both Amiga PC with it, from what (very little) I understand?
It would be great for us to release an updated exe file for Amiga PC along with the updated data files for both.

Yeah well I might be talking rubbish, since I don t really use the tools
I was just under the impression that people were having difficulty getting data sets to match up with exe s. MAME has the same problem.
I forgot to add, I m talking about an online tool that ensures all you gotta do is pick/import a starting database, make your edits and click export. You ll automatically get your compatible exe and data. Since it s an online tool, you never have to check if you have the latest exe or whatever.
You could also merge normally incompatible data to work with whichever version of the game you re playing.

However I never thought about editing the swos2 file because according this:
www.sensiblesoccer.de/forum/index.php?to...99.msg95142#msg95142
looks like you can t really change swos2 file without causing a crash (basically you can update poolplyr.dat and team s skills/names/shirts).
No idea if it s true or not.

Well, if anyone can get this working for both Amiga PC, my bet is that a professional game programmer can do it. Mr Higgins, I m looking at you!
