"Friendly League Changes History Special Edition: Road To South Africa" - Info

What is this special edition?
Following the idea behind FLCH we will recreate the complete 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers plus the final tournament. This will be a very special tournament though, since there are nothing more than 205 teams competing on this tournament, each player will get several teams. This tournament is played by 17 players with 12 teams for each. We are going to follow the exact rules and conditions of every continental qualifiers tournament. Since this is a very particular competition where each player will get more than one team we will have some restrictions that might lead to some changes to the actual draws. Other than that we will follow the original competition draw.
Please take note that the organization of this tournament involved an impressive amount of work, from gathering data, editing, team mapping to thinking on the actual competition format which wasn t easy due to having to deal with the multiple teams per player thing. So we expect everyone that is playing on this tournament to make the effort to play all their matches within the deadlines. We think all the effort put into this deserves it.

FLCH RTSA Online Version Download:
To play on this competition you will need the ss.de Amiga SWOS version with an updated HDF file. You can download a fully ready package of the game, extract it to some directory and use it when you will play for this tournament. The Teams:
- We will play with current updated rosters for ALL the teams present on World Cup qualifiers, for that you will need to use a special version of ss.de Amiga SWOS that contains a modified HDF with this new data. You can download this special FLCH RTSA SWOS version on the links above.

- Please do not complain about the rosters, saying this player should be in and that one shouldn t, this is the data we will use to play and won t do updates during the competition. We tried to build the rosters as accurate as possible, but bare in mind that only 16 players per team can be used so for some teams some important players must be left out. Also if you ask 10 person to give you the 16 players for a team, we would probably end up with 10 different rosters.

- After a lot of thinking we decided NOT TO EDIT any stats. So we tried to map the new teams to the original SWOS teams and edited the player names, skin and hair colors only.

- Strength of teams was calculated based on FIFA/Coca Cola NT ranking, ELO Ratings and Transfermarkt.de team values by the end of October of 2008. After having all the teams ordered we mapped them to original SWOS teams according to their strength.

- You can find the teams to use on this competition inside National Teams in SWOS. There instead of the usual Europe, Africa, etc. you will see teams split alphabetically so it will be easier for everyone to find their teams.

Team Assignment:
- Team assignment will be rank based. That is worst ranked player will get best team and so on. Since we are 17 players and each player will have 12 teams this will mean best ranked player will get the 17th best team and then worst ranked player will get 18th best team and so on until everyone gets their 12 teams.

- Only exception will be daimaou that will get 13 teams, he will get the regular 12 teams plus Tuvalu that won t be able to qualify to World Cup just like on the real FIFA qualifiers, as they aren t FIFA members. So in fact he will still only have 12 teams with chances to qualify to the World Cup like everyone else.

- During team assignment process some manual changes were required in order to maintain a balanced team number for each player over every continent.

Each player can only have a maximum number of teams as well as a minimum for each of the continents, these are:
UEFA/Europe (Max:4,Min:3)
CONCACAF/North and Central America (Max:2,Min:2) (Except for 1 player that will have 3 teams)
CONMEBOL/South America (Max:1,Min:0)
CAF/Africa (Max:4,Min:3)
Asia/AFC (Max:3,Min:2)
Oceania/OFC (Max:1,Min:0)

- During the tournament it won t be possible for more than 1 team for the same player to be drawn on the same group. If original tournament draw would force that to happen his extra teams will be moved to the next group (Please check the rules topic for full info about this)

Tournament Format:
- We will play the 6 continental qualifying tournaments in the exact same conditions as the original competition. 32 Teams will qualify for the World Cup (South Africa qualifies nevertheless it s result). You can check the complete format at www.fifa.com/worldcup/index.html. Only exception will be on cases the actual competition would dictate 2 or more teams from the same player to be drawn on the same group. In that case some manual changes will be made as ss.de event manager can’t handle this.

- There will be deadlines for each of the stages of the competition so please try to make your games within that period, in case you can t find your opponents you should use the a href= forum.sensiblesoccer.info/index.php?topic=6690.0 Gaming Scheduler /a and also message the other players so you can arrange a date to play.
