Jordan (Foka) - Romania (Rock and Roll) 3 - 7
The craziest game I ve ever played.
Jordan needed a win to grab the second place in the final standings and knock Poland out of the World Cup.
They were playing Romania, who had performed well, but were only playing for national pride after losing their first two games.
Jordan started out on fire. Alsaify started the Jordanian party with a long distance strike on 12 minutes. Romania couldn t string a proper attack together, whilst Jordan showed great attacking creativity. Abdel Mahmoud showed why Jordan were in the Finals with two perfect finished which emulated Milita s double strike in the Champions League Final. Jordan three up with 55 minutes to play and Romania were nowhere to be seen (Foka was playing amazing football with a weak team).
The Polish television were just about to stop their live broadcast, the Polish team had started packing for home when Romania broke through only to be halted by a desperate sliding tackle. The referee had no doubt in his mind in showing the defender the red card. Could this be a turning point?
Romania started to string some passes together and a nice move, gave Mutu an easy tap-in to pull one back on the stroke of half-time (even though he was offside). Jordan still well in the driving seat 3-1 up at half-time but Romania were back in the game after the Jordanian dominance. Could Romania emulate Portugal in the 1966 World Cup (3-0 down to North Korea, but eventually won with a major role for Eusebio by 3-5).
The second half was insane. Jordan were looking to control the match but the man and speed advantage Romania had gave Niculae an early chance which he couldn t miss 3-2. Now the pressure was on Jordan seeing as a draw wouldn t be enough. Romania got a 2 on 1 chance in the 61st minute and the defender was forced to bring Niculae down in the area....penalty! The keeper dived the wrong way and Romania were all square 3-3.
Romania sensed blood and Mutu grabbed two more in the 66th and 70th minute as the Jordanian keeper went to pieces. Another red card (bad decision by the referee) made Jordan s task near-impossible and the other Niculae grabbed two late goals as Romania salvaged their pride in winning one of the craziest ever games to have ever been played at the World Cup and finishing the group in third place. Rumour has it that they head home with an extra 100 crates of the finest Polish beer....

Denmark starts in the WC with a run on the goal of the irish fighters, but it was Keane who scored the first goal in the game!
15 minutes later the danish dynamite strikes back and scores the equalizer. Bendtner was the man who shot the ball from the slot in the net. Denmark with big run and a lot of pressure on the irish goal. But the defenders say NO. Really great defence in the rest of the match by the irish.
A counterattack from Keane again and the match was won by the Republic of Ireland. He runs from the midfield to the goal and no defender could stop him. Icecold he scrores the goal.
Nice match, hard fights!
