Hi guys,
The Irish Amiga community is holding a one day event on Jan 21st , full details here:
www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=360865314260718 set=gm.1779413405714221 type=3 theater

There will be a swos tournament and an Irish champion. Can this event be designated the official SWOS Irish championship? Are there specific rules for being an official tournament?

It would be great to have the blessing of the official Swos community.

Thanks,
Danny.

If your goal is to have results added to the Amiga offline world ranking I guess you don t need much more than the Swos version based on the 95/96 or 96/97 version (You can use the new updated teams 16/17 or superteams). Pitch and time rules are your own choice. Usually tournament games are played at 3-7 mins depending on the organizer.

At the world cup we have been using the original 96/97 teams, 3 min. games and random pitch. Usually 2 legs in Knockout stage. Free team choice (clubs and nations).

But in the end every Swos tournament is welcome. Great to see Swos is still played in Ireland! :)

djowGer has covered most of the needed info.

Plus, if you want to have the results entered on the website, we d need all results in written form (including participants nicknames).
So, at best, people should have an account registered.
Example:
www.sensiblesoccer.de/community/tournaments/view/4277/matches

Great effort, Danny.
I could send a newsletter to all Irish users, to attract more people.

Haven t heard about any other Irish SWOS event so I believe it is safe to call yours a Championship. Unless a challenger appears but that would be awesome! ;)

Hey everyone, thanks for posting and sharing this, I m running the SWOS comp in Athlone this Saturday, very excited for it!

Quick note one Jon Hare before I forget to mention, he s not going to be in attendance, but he will be doing a Skype interview with us. David Pleasance and other Amiga big wigs will be at the event though :)

I really appreciate you allowing this to feature as an Irish Championships, it s something I ve wanted to do for such a long time, so hopefully after this, it s something that can be done a bit more regularly and I ll be sure to let you all know well in advance about it!

For the actual running and ranking of it, am I right in saying that for a player to feature in the ranking, they need to have a account set up here? I ll keep record of the games played and the names of the players and I ll let people know in advance that they need to create an account if they want to be recorded.

Of the off chance, if someone wins who isn t registered, does that make the competition ineligible? Just asking in case.

We re gonna be playing on SWOS 96/97 on the day. Anything specific that I need to provide you with, just let me know.

Thanks again, keep up the great work, delighted to see such a great SWOS community thriving!
