Tennis

OK, stupid question...but still....

As some of you may or may not know I m president of a tennis club.
About 200 to 250 members. Not posh (you know me guys ), a club where fun comes first.

My question is...does anyone else actually play (actively)? If so, well...you never know,
maybe, just maybe, we might one day eventually be able to work some kind of
offline tournament thing (to keep it all swosy ). Or at least someone might have some
bright ideas for fun tournaments etc. (we find we keep organizing the same things over and
over again and it s getting a bit stale).

Hm, interesting, I used to play Tennis until I was 15. Then I had to choose between Footy and Tennis... and sticked to Footy!

And you?

I played footy but had to retire early (20). First major injury was my right knee.
Broke through on goal (I was centre forward). One defender kicked the left side of my knee...the other the right side.
Yep both at the same time....out for six months.
First game back I got a two leg sliding tackle on my right ankle (after 15 minutes grrrr).
That was the career over ...two years later I started playing tennis...and still do today (well, I haven t played in a year
thanks to a dislocated shoulder but that s another story ).

I am not into playing football in real life at all. Yet the only computer sports game I play is SWOS how about that - a paradox.

I prefer other team sports - basketball and volleyball.

The usual injuries are twisted ankles. Plus recently I play basketball with a group of people, who might not be very fast or skillful, but they are quite alright in fouling... And we don t use the fouled out rule, so you can imagine - every Monday I am a bit trashed...

As for your question: no, I don t play tennis. Recently I tried squash (as a friend of mine runs a squash club), but didn t like it either...

But hey, even a tennis tournament including SWOS is still a great idea

My top favorite Tennis game is Serve Volley for PC DOS.
Truly an underdog, but I love it.
