Yes, no problem! Download a Dosbox for Linux and play the normal CD version! Should work fine...

Hmmm...

h**p://swos.ring23.com/stat/cgi-bin/download.pl?file=amigaonline2.exe

That is the official Online-SWOS-Package everybody plays with. It is all ready configured. Install and play. But I really don t know if that works on Linux.

If you need a special Amiga Emu for Linux it must have kaillera support (online client) and use the config file from the Online package.

According to this thread, there are players who use linux for online play.

Would be nice to know how they do it.

I think AUE is originally a linux based program, so it shouldn t be impossible...

I only use this under linux, in fact I copied the best Graphincs and Sound and Data from the totalpack to the SWOS directory.

Setup dosbox and make sure you copy the SWOS files to a FAT32 partition (in order to overcome name mangling issues which result in files not found due to the fact that Linux sees the difference between upper and lowercase).

Note that it is easy to create a FAT32 partition in a file.
1) create empty file with dd command
2) then make filesytem in this file with mkfs.vfat command
3) then mount -o loop of this file to your mount point

Anyway, if anyone is really interested to actually run SWOS under Linux as well, let me know. I kll then give a more thorough explenation.
