Using two controllers

I currently use a Logitech controller for playing Amiga swos and have only ever played against the computer.

If I wanted to play against a friend is it possible to use a second controller or would the second player have to use the keyboard as controls?

Thought I d check this before I bought another controller.

i m sure i ve done this before,
if you play with [amiga joy port 1] set to [pc joystick 0]
then your friend would set [amiga joy port 0] to [pc joystick 1]
