Re: 3 minutes in WinUAE vs 3 minutes in DOSBOX
Ok, but how SWOS calculate that X?
X is calculated in 2 ways, I think.
a) Location of the ball: Near one of the areas and doesn t cross the (invisible) 30 yard line!
b) Time factor of the ball: Either not being touched (like some high lob over the box), or not being moved, independent from its location on the pitch.

With 50 fps and playing in that way you get 3 minutes.

How about 47 fps on Winuae?
With 50 fps and playing in that way you get 3 minutes.
No, that was ok! You can clearly see that PC SWOS time runs faster Amiga!
To show that, one half of a match was enough.
In winaue it was always 1:30 + 1:30, in Dosbox: always 1:10 + 1:10!
Correct!

50 fps * 90 seconds = 4500 frames
4500 frames / 47 fps = 96 seconds

Well, no. If WinUAE runs at 47 fps isn t ok... It has to run at 50 fps!
47 FPS was caused by screen recording.
Tested with 50 FPS without recording. Same result! PC time is only 1:10 min per halftime! Amiga 1:30min!

So Amiga version isn t slower: it is, well, ok (3 mins are 180 seconds)! PC version is faster and it s not ok (too fast: 3 mins are 140 seconds).

thank you Playaveli. That s the conclusive evidence. I wonder why the guys who were porting SWOS to DOS overlooked such important detail.
You made your test using DosBox? Maybe on some ancient PC with proper DOS it s 180 seconds. I guess we will never know..
I hope they won t do it again in Sociable Soccer
