Who is the best in Europe? - Concept for a tournament

Magickey thought over a new tournament. Here are his proposals:


Who’s the best in Europe?

1. 8 teams are taking part
2. There are two groups (A+ each with 4 teams. (Two Tables)
3. A team consists of 4 players of the same nationality
4. There will be a group stage, as we know it from football.
5. There’ll be a team competition. Teams with most victories, wins the comparison.
6. For a win you get three points an for a draw one point – if necessary, the goal difference will
decide.
7. After the group stage there is the semi-final round with each of the first and the second from group A
and B (The winner of Group A plays against the second of group B / The winner of Group B
plays against the second of group A) Then the winner comes into the final. The losers plays for
third place.
8. The number of teams, players and games can be adapted. This is an addition to my idea.

And I recall one where my country was also represented, just couldn t find it in the result list. But there have been a few.

I think it has been tried many times, but like many other tourneys here on ss.de, players that sign up don t play all their games, loose interest etc. which makes it unfair for those who do play their games.

Sorry for my negative response. Idea is fine though.
