Awesome Soccer - New game inspired by Sensible Soccer

Hi guys,

Just to let everyone know about a new game that I ve written called Awesome Soccer - a modern day homage to the legendary Sensible Soccer. Here are a few screen shots to give you a flavour of the game:

My aim was to retain all of the things that made Sensible Soccer the greatest game ever made - ie fantastic gameplay, but to (hopefully) add some modern sheen and polish, and to incorporate the new features that we ve been become accustomed to within the genre through games like ProEvo/Winning 11 and FIFA Soccer.

I m been developing the game on and off for a couple of years now, and after a not-so-brief hiatus, development of the game has picked up again, and I m now able to offer the final beta version of the game for download by anyone who might be interested:

So...what would I like from you and the forum in return? Feedback, feedback and more feedback basically! The good, the not so good, and the downright ugly!

A bit about me: Brought up with the Amiga - absolutely adored the platform, and played Sensible Soccer far, far too much (as an example, we had a 12 player league system at Uni, and due to spectator demand, we had to hook up a 2nd TV so that other people could watch in a different room!) I started writing games on the platform, and released a couple through 17 Bit Software. I even started a Sensi prototype back then, but Uni finished and it was time to grow up and get a proper job! Carried on the game writing on a sporadic basis, and then came back to the idea of writing the modernised Sensi game a couple of years ago - and Awesome Soccer is the result...

A quick word of warning:

Please use 1024 x 768 as the resolution, rather than 1280 x 1024.

Using 1280 x 1024 may cause an Out of Memory error on some machines.

• Significant Graphics Improvements - better use of Smoothing and Anti-Aliasing
• Faster Match Loading Time (~50% faster)
• Reduced Download Size (~10MB smaller)
• Improved Goalkeeper AI - prevents dribbling around him to score too easily
• Modified Gameplay Speed (slightly slower to allow more time for novice players)
• Menu Navigation Enhancements
• Added 2 extra Golden Balls available to win in the Demo Version
• Display Goal Position During Free Kicks (improves shot accuracy)

sorry but i didnt like it,can not be %1 of SWOS.

Sorry to hear that, but may I ask what didn t you like? Was it too difficult, could you not score, pass etc? How many games did you play? And also, how did you want it to play like - an exact replica of SWOS, or something slightly different?
