How do you edit the starting date in career mode using a hex editor (PC version)

I was just just wondering how easy it is to change the starting date in career using a hex editor. For instance if I wanted to edit it to start in 08/09 instead of 96/97. Would I have to go into sws.exe to do this, or am I better going into a saved career.

It is possible because I have an update for 05/06- where you start a career in 05/06 instead of 96/97. Thanks in advance for any assistance. ;D
