SWOS download info required for novice please???

Hello all,

Hopefully someone out there can help??? ???

I would like to get back to the good old days of SWOS, that I used to play for hours (days!!!) on the Amiga in the 90 s.

I now dont have an Amiga (it died many years ago ) and have a Samsung netbook.

I have tried lots of different ways to get SWOS running and have had some success but never complete. I get the sound but no joypad compatibility or then sometimes no sound etc.....etc....etc....

My latest download was the PC SWOS 96/97 (not from here I might add) and I think it works through DosBox, but I cant get the joypad working (never could get on with keys) and it doesnt also seem to have an option to quit to windows. I have to crash the programme out to quit????

Can someone please post me the links to the latest download and updates and if possible some idiot proof instructions ;D

I just want to delete all the failed attempts off the laptop and start from fresh to get a full working version to relive my hayday!!!!

Thanks, I did browse this quickly (as I m at work!!!) and I presume I want to download the latest version which is on the last few pages of the thread somewhere??? ???

My question is......is this an easy installation? And easy to install updates?

Will it work through DosBox or do I need anyother software?

And will any joypad work with it?

Ok I ve downloaded the swos total pack and unzipped it and now have about 3900 odd files?????

I cant for the life of me work out which one to install.

Help??????

I tried the .\launcher\launcher_p.exe file but it says file not found first in a pop up with a red cross then goes to the set up box but when I click play it says I dont have dosbox installed???? And I dont have the joystick and controller options tab as shown in the long thread???

Any help much appreciated.
