problems in xp

wow, i never know that this forum is there
i kindly need you help
i have widnows xp and dowload full version cd 110 via torrent, i install game but sound isn t there, it s ok, i am used to it
i also manage and install new data
but the game is very slow, i don t know why, i try to install dosbox and play in it, it s the same
i put the game on old pc 2 633 and in win 98 it work ok
but on my laptop acer 2.4 with xp work very slow, menu is slow, and in game you simply can t play

so....please, what should i do?
