This may have been mentioned previously but the Joystick calibration in the SWOS++ menu doesn t work correctly. When calibrating the Joystick the numbers for example for bottom right fluctuate between 1200 and 1600. This Problem also occurs when calibrating the middle Position.


I have the exactly the same problem, with 2 or 3 different gamepads...SaintGav s solution below has just fixed it!

I have a fix for the joystick calibration in SWOS++, or at least it worked for me.

Browse to the DOSBOX folder and edit the ipx.conf file with notepad. Look for the following:

joysticktype=auto
timed=true
autofire=false
swap34=false
buttonwrap=true

Change the timed=true value to timed=false. Save the file and restart the game. Hope this works for others


Thanks, this has fixed it for me, finally!


New ++ version will be included by next week. USB devices will be auto-configured, by default.
This will get rid of all problems, including the usage of joy2key or similar software.

Hey dude!

There are some error in Italian SERIE A and SERIE B teams.....

SERIE A = 20 teams, not 18... You have to insert UDINESE and PALERMO (actually placed in SERIE B)

SERIE B = 22 teams, not 20... You have top remove UDINESE and PALERMO (move in SERIE A) and add: ASCOLI, LATINA, PRO VERCELLI, SALERNITANA.

This is not an error!
We have maintained same league structure as in original SWOS 96/97.
In other words: It s done on purpose, for historical, retro and compatibility reasons! ;)

Hi all,

Two more for you:
Shay Given (G, Stoke City) should be Irish, not Danish.
Leeds Utd have winger Hadi Sacko twice, once as LW once as RW. He can play either. So the squad will need a replacement.

Yea, I suppose it....
But many years ago, (1998...?) I change the number of the team with SWOSed, on my AMIGA1200. I add 2 teams in serie B (italian rules changed) and the season work! Probabilly i change the number of the team in an other nation

+++ USB controller issue solved (PC DOS version) +++
Fixed some problems with USB controllers for PC DOS version. So, if you had problems to calibrate your controller, redownload the game. It s auto-configured now, no calibration or additional software needed (like joy2key etc...). (SWOS++ 1.9.2.1)

When I played this game, after I came back to windows, sometimes line of letters on keyboard (QWERTZUIOPúä) stopped working. When I pressed those letters, nothing happened. (this was happening only when I played SWOS) So I needed to unplug keyboard cable and put it back. But this week it stopped working pemanently, even reconnecting cable didn t help, so I needed to buy new keyboard. Had anybody similar problem?
