Re: "SWOS United" or "The future of ss.de"

To bring it to the point: it s getting more and more difficult to finance the servers, so we have to change something, to move to a cheaper webspace and/or other solutions. We really have big plans for the future, but the current situation makes it not easier to realise them, it s even unsafe to keep the current status. One and I think the best idea is to found a SWOS fanclub (SWOS United) and if you like to be a member you pay 1 Euro per month. This shouldn t hurt but the effect could be huge. Maybe and I really hope it s possible to get about 50 members or more on this way which would be a really big help to finance the costs for the main site, forum, kaillera server and webspace for member sites. Our intention is an uncommercial, well working community with result management + rankings and, of course, to support Sensible (World of) Soccer in general! Of course you will get a real member card and some advantages in future, maybe features on website, a bit webspace, email address or other things in future, we will see.

Entschuldige die Verwirrung, kann ich nachvollziehen. Also, meinem Post liegen folgende Fakten zu Grunde: Zum einen erfüllen wir bisher nicht die Auflagen zur Gründung eines eingetragenen Vereins. Zum anderen ist die Finanzierung der Server auf absehbare Zeit ungesichert. Dennoch oder gerade deswegen muss der Club Bestand haben, ob mit oder ohne e. V. ! Und wenn die Beiträge jetzt günstiger sind, sollte das keine Probleme verursachen. Ich hoffe doch sehr, dass wir hier nicht alle verschiedene Suppen kochen.

Can you explain this a bit more.

If project with SWOS United will be accepted what will be with players that rarely comes to site to just play national leagues for example?

Can you give us some view on future competitions and so on.

SWOS United is for players who want to help us with the project by choice, not more. It s no fee to take part on leagues or any other competitions, if you thought so.

For the internationals: e.V. means registered association and is nothing else but a official club.
We are about to found one. Once it s official we ll let you know about it.

We already have a few members who already paid more than 1 Euro per month and this is saving our existence for the next months. But in which form the club will exist in future is still unsure, but it will exist! I would prefer a bigger club with many international members paying less money than only a few paying more. Some things are about to change. SWOS.info is not solid and ss.de too slow and the costs are too high, so we are about to move to another server (with a better performance) and are also about to realise changes concerning coding of the website and other things like the SRN/rankings system. Through the years we saved tons of data like results, tables, profiles etc. and we don t like to delete anything, but it s getting harder to organize all that stuff. But we want to reach a reliable system and I hope this is important for you too and that s why we need your help. So please post your thoughts. So we can decide about details.

If you support us, we will support you, regarding SWOS:
- Member card (not sure yet how it will look like, simple or with photo)
- Some webspace for your personal SWOS site or regional community
- Of course a nice eMail address

.. shouldn t be a problem yet, other things could be possible in future (with more members), like printed magazines
