Agreed that is the only drawback.
But saying that surely it is just a Novelty if it means that they have to have 7 for tackling. Just for 5 stars.
Take for example would Christian Vieri be a better attacker if he had better tackling? Not with the ball he wouldn t
Surely if a player is 5 stars it means his stats are unrealistic?

An attacker with 7 in T is better than an attacker with 5. Sliding tackle goals are quite common, to attack the defenders after a GK passed the ball is important. And with a T he can play in other potions better. So a 49er is clearly better than a 44er
Your logic is good, and maybe better than the original logic in swos. But! The original database and the updates (many exists) use the same old logic. It can be argued as good or bad, but it is used.
If you use your own - logical - method, that players will weaker in your database. We can say, that year will be lot weaker (in this part) than others. That was a year of plague in football? Why 96/97 players are much better ?!?
So, I suggest, if you do anything, use the original logic. Even if it is not the most realistic (pixelfootball was mean to be realistic???). But as you want. Ofc.
Just one data: in the original database there are 40 players with 44 or more attrib points.

I don t think money is important. If you want, you can easily be millionaire, I think all the players (except the newbies), try to find different challenges. But this just my opinion. Cheap or not, I wont sign too much stars.
But you are right, if you shift down all player values (I mean price ) the money will be relatively more I guess. So one more reason to stay with the original method

Don t suppose there is a way to change the amount of money squads can have? That way you wouldn t be able to sign the best player out there even if he cost 5m.....

But an attacker with high tackling so he can steal the ball off his opponents and play better in different positions. Is unrealistic? A striker plays in a SC position no?
I believe the game is an accurate representation of football. Fifa you can pass with pin point precision easily. SWOS it takes skill. Fifa you can dribble anyway you want. SWOS you can t.

Now a correct definition of Tackling would be helpful and might solve any issues. If tackling also effects the player volley etc Then I could incorporate that in the conversion.

Hi all, been a while.
Tried to register with my traditional username. Something I regret as I could well have just asked for it to be changed.
So thanks to the editor available here I am able to update the game with a twist etc. Modern updates will be left to Synchro.
But my project for the game has started, from something small it has become something far bigger.

You have to look at this in professional terms,
a 1-20 scale for the following is what we need to input;
1 = Lowest a professional player can have.
10 = Average professional football player.
20 = World class, in a league of his own.
That is how you would input your data.
Then the averages would lead to the next step, which is determining how much a player is worth and therefore dictating how valuable his attributes can be.
Right here we go, this is the conversion list.
