We will follow exactly the MLS 1996 season in the KO round (play-offs). The KO is based on conference (but with points also from the games with the other teams). The 1st play with the 4th, and the 2nd with the 3rd in each conference, after the winners play for the conference title. (2 matches, but a 3rd if the 2 games have different winner.)
At the end, the two conference winner will play for the MLS-Cup (1 match), and he maybe will be the World Champion
We will only use one special rule: the 5th from the two conference will match for the title: The weakest Club in the USA

I spent 2 hours with investigation: what was the competition format in 1996 in the MLS?
The first part was easy: 10 teams, and 2 conference with 5-5 teams. After normal season there were a play-off. But the main season was 32 games/team. 32? How?
Don t even try it! And there aren t any source.... After 2 hours of googling, i have found this:
You play 4 times with every teams in your conference: 4 teams x 4 matches = 16 matches
And you also play 3 times with every team from the other conference. It is 5 teams x 3 matches = 15 matches. Plus you play one more (so 4 totally) with one of them, to make it 32 and for same number of A and h games....
Crazy!
After you put all results in one league, and the overall winner is a winner.
But there is also a play-off! And the play-off s winner is the real winner.
Oh, men! Why you have not choose just a normal British country...

I will change the format a bit, to make it simpler slightly. I want to preserve it, but this is too hard to follow.
So our format will be:
Play with your Conference s teams 4x, and with others 2x. And after there will be a play-off. It is almost the same, but lot more simple.

One more intersting thing: This was the very 1st MLS season (inaugural season). So it is a very nice start for us! Let s take part all of you!

All teams in the Eastern Conference have to lose to the Tampa Bay Munity 4 times or be deleted from the league.
Western Conference
Los Angeles Galaxy - St. Vitus
Dallas Burn - Swos4ever
Kansas City Wiz - Schulle
San Jose Clash - Alpino
Colorado Rapids - Sox
All these teams have play and lose to Tampa Bay twice.
After that all teams bar Tampa Bay are deleted and Tampa Bay wins!
