The problem resides in the data format.
Swoes 1.3 comes with the PP.EXE, which IS the packer/unpacker for Amiga, but it s a non-64bit compatible binary, so it refuses to run in my modern Windows 7 64bit SP1.
So i decided to use it from a VirtualBox Windows XP 32bit installation.. and swoes, this time, fully works with -in input, as in output at quit time- DO USE the PP.EXE to treat the amiga files.
Then, i just cut/copy the 01 original data dir from my win7 to xp, process inside the virtual winxp, then cut/copy again on the host win7.
result??
NO CHANGES!! not at all!
i m crying

Don t know why... but the whole Amiga pack directory is set read-only, so te swoes editing under the windows xp FAILS.
setting read/write on that makes swoes do his work, and FINALLY.... CHANGES ARE ON!!!!
BUT..... they activate ONLY in the windows xp virtual box... while i cut/copy them, back to the host os (carefully settings the read only flags back to NO)... everything breaks out.
Absurd.

and i repeat: in winxp virtualbox mods works.... when i cut/copy 01 set from the virtual machine to the host win7 using a simply shared directory... i cannot see changes anymore. i sent a PM to Starwindz, hopefully he ll put some light on this crap

thanks, so far.
