Seedings for Wroclaw Open 2009

As you can see some international players can not confirm their participation at this moment. For this reason we can t announce what seedings will exactly look like. Let me present some guidelines we will follow once we know who is coming for sure.

• seedings will be based on ss.de offline ranking
• players will be drawn in 5 groups
• all international players will be seeded
• 2 international players from same country can not be drawn in a same group
• top Polish players will be added to international players pots if necessary

Wroclaw Open 2009 tournament mode

So, it s time to explain what will tournament mode look like. It will look exactly like last year with no changes whatsoever.

Players will be drawn into 5 groups, seedings explained above.
In group stage there will be 2 games against each player.

It s our intention to give every single player a chance of experiencing thrill of play-off games. That s why nobody will be eliminated after group stage. 1st KO round will determine who will play in last 32 round. Obviously we will need 32 players for this round, so:

example based on 40 players - 8 players have to be eliminated so 8x2=16, 16 players will fight for 8 places, 24 will qualify directly (top 4 from each group + 4 5th places)
example based on 45 players - 13 players have to be eliminated so 13x2=26, 26 players will fight for, 13 places 19 will qualify directly (top 3 from each group + 4 4th places)
