Re: 1. Bielefelder Alm Cup - 1st. July 2017

Dear SWOS friends.

After discovering SWOS in 2009, going to my first tournament in 2011, visiting my first Sensible Days in 2012 it was time for my first own tournament.

This was possible cause I moved to a bigger place last year. Second reason was, that my girlfriend made me a special birthday present: She asked HeinAir to start a doodle request to find an appointment for a tournament in my home. She and my 2 kids left the apartment for a day.

Making a long story short: Yesterday the first Bielefelder Alm Cup took place at my home. (Alm: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bielefelder_Alm)

Not only that this was my first tournament, it was also a first (and successfully) test with AMIGA SWOS (16/17) on MIST FPGA. We played the first half of the season on MIST, the second on an original Amiga1200.

Remarkable: No one detected a difference compared to orignal hardware, only Bomb stated the MIST is even MORE responsive than the Amiga...

Here we go:

8 players took part:

- Francisco137 (first time appearance)

We played a SWOS Tournament in groupstage, 2 rounds. After that 1vs8 2vs7, etc...
Then places 5-8 in a small groupstage. (Only one game vs each other.)
Then Half Final - 3rd Place - Final

So congratulations to Bomb for winning the 1st Alm Cup ever.

I have to say thanks to all participants for turning this tournament into a great SWOS-event.

Congrats, bomb!

It was a perfect small nice tournament with good SWOS, good talks and perfect rainy weather. Very interesting to test Amiga vs MIST - I think I made my choice now.
Thx to Gunnar (and his wife) and Heinair for organizing this. I hope there is a new cup next year.

Found my logo for the cup. It s the armband from Arminias Captain Julian Börner (2017/2018). The armband is an individual item and shows the DSC Logo and the Sparrenburg en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparrenberg_Castle .

Micha, can you put this as tournaments logo, (or tell me how I can handle it myself ;D)?
