I actually have to redo ALL the skill attributes anyway.
Two fields got confused the first time, making some of the values nonsense.
So I will keep them on two scales.

This is falling over because I can t uniquely identify players. With this many players in the DB there are many who share the same nationality, birthdate and name, meaning synchronising it with a real-time db like tmkt or footballsquads is looking nightmarish. Throw in the different spellings of Ukrainian names etc and it looks even worse.

Any ideas on that front would be appreciated. I don t think we have the manpower here to do all transfers, new players and reputation changes etc. manually.

I have a plan... this should go ahead now. And be great and long-term.

Just an update, this is all go
Transfers are synchronised from internets, so user input will be more in terms of correcting inaccuracies etc.
More detailed attributes, which can be adjusted by the user community, are in place, should we want to use them rather than just derive the 1-7 ranked attributes from them.

What about a v2.3, with january s transfers?

There will be a whole new update now that the window has closed. It will be a while though. This many transfers = starting from scratch. Building the DB now, and after that, it won t mean starting from scratch!

btw, does anyone know why the same sheet that takes half a second to sort in Excel 2000 takes 30 minutes to sort in Excel 2010 (which is otherwise far less limited)???
