the ladder is really great. i d prefer(or need:P) to use a lift to get to the final, but a ladder will do too.

Anyway, I made some calculations (please correct me if sth seems wrong).

6mins - duration of each game
1 min - setting the game (substitutes, custom tactics in the half of games)
30 secs - saving the game
20 secs - time to get the opponents to the comp. (average)
30 secs - time to find/plug controllers

in 10-players group there are 90 games.

8.2x90=738mins/60=12.3 hours

This is all rough, but if we start at 11am, group stage will be finished at 11 pm.
If KO games will be played match after match (on only one comp). then it is next 3 hours,
so the final will be played soon after 2.00am.

To sum up.. we will finish as usually not long before sunrise, which is not bad. Of course, only if everything goes smooth;-)

Don t forgett that there is allways some thing that can happen you can t see before, so calculate 2 hours more to your calculation

i dont think that we will play every k.o. game alone...

first round (4vs5 and 3vs6) we can play on 4 stations
and maybe the next round on 2 stations

this are rounds, where not every game is soooo important, that 40 players have to watch

quarters finals should be played on the best station to watch, pc with beamer

so you got 2 times 4 matches
4 times 2 matches
7 times 1 match

If the group stage is finished at 11pm it would be cool.
As Micha wrote, first Last16 rounds will be played simultaneously which saves a lot of time.
QF, SF and finals on central PC / Amiga with beamer.

Information about the XBLA tournament:

Since most people will play it for the first time and due to the fact that Amiga PC are the main events
we will do the following...
The XBLA tournament will be played as an DIY-Cup (only KO-rounds) with ONLY club teams allowed.
We will do a seeding list and lowest player may choose his team first, etc...
The cup will be started on Saturday with all interested players. You can play your match when it s due in SWOS
just in between one of your PC group matches.
To make it clear: This is more like a fun cup and the chance to check out the new game.

1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded, of course.

Tournament with 4 groups is becoming unpracticable due to the mass of players who recently signed up.
We are approaching 50+ players. Maybe we ll break the old WST record of 54 players.
We cannot play DIY leagues with more than 11 players.

Currently we are checking out new ways of playing the tournament.
If you have any ideas, please post them. If they are good we ll consider them for sure.
