6 groups, every PC is a (DIY) group with 8 players, 4+2 qualify, 2 are out (sorry, GL on Amiga ;)) - I think this is the best solution.
That was really tricky, but I ve tried to create the bracket as fair as possible and it really matters which place you reach and you should always have a chance to improve your chances or at least the feeling of a chance ;)

The 2nd aka last chance round is quasi a Gang Bang K.O. in league format LOL, only one leg but 2 games for everyone, to knock out 1 of 3. This could be very thrilling but that s the punishment of place 5-6 ;) Anyway, 2 of 3 is still a good chance to reach the next round and I think even it s only one game, it s more fair than any wildcard, don t you think?

What we need to sort out is to get 6 full PCs with adaptors, screens etc.

I think the biggest problem of this bracket is that it is a bit confusing ;) I ve tried to illustrate something like a symmetry with colors, here:

Apart from the fact that some groups will probably consist of more than 8 players (due to the high number of participants) I think that is also a good model.

system looks great redhair.. i think it would be a good idea to somehow print this overview out, and put it on a huge board, so that everyone can see it at the tournament. instead of having it all on just a computer, plus updating it with names throughout the tourney. :)

i agree, that s the best format.

and good point, Djowger - nothing worse for organizers than people complaining after the tournament about a ladder system. now it s clear, and designed to please everyone, and if it s available and handy somewhere at the tournament, there should be no complaints at all.

Thank you, and yes, I think a big poster with fields to fill in the names would be cool ;)
I agree, it must be open to scrutiny.

I have to talk to Paider first but I think we can bring:

- keypad
- probably one PC

- 8,2min per match (t=8,3 - thanks Wana;-)
- Number of stations:
- Group stage according to the number of groups.
- up to quarter-final 4 computers, from semis all games shown on a big screen.
- counted with 55 players for all systems

Hairfu (8 groups) 42xt+10xt+ (KO) 20xt= 72x8,3= 10h - the end at 9pm (sat)

I think it s already decided, but it s a confirmation of a good choice. I think 6 groups will work out even with 60 players(the end at 1-3am - depending on delays).
1am, seems a perfect time for a final and I think it s achievable if we come to Pirma without laziness;-)
