However, I would prefer China league instead of taiwan.
Me too - if we want SWOS to expand China would be preferable compared to Taiwan.

We re only updating the teams in 96/97, not changing competitions etc..
If we change Taiwan....well....why?
The reasons to change would apply to a lot of other leagues and that s not a place we want to go.
It d be the first domino to fall, and the spirit of this update would be gone.

As I said before, we can t change Taiwan to China. Even though it might be better.

I can see the problem, but do we want to make it playable or do we just want to keep the SWOS-spirit. In this case no one want to play in Taiwan (where it is more or less impossible to find the teams), but China could be a lot more interesting for everyone.
El Salvador is of course another problem....

Why not replace e.g. San Marino with Bosnia?
And yes, El Salvador is a massive pain to find information outside the Primera.
Why not e.g. switch El Salvador and the USA?
That s the problem, there are a lot of logical switches that could be made which might all improve the game.
That would mean a massive rewrite. Something I would be very very interested in and something which would interest even more people. But that s not this update. This is just showing what has happened to SWOS in 20 years.
Which is why Taiwan should be in, how illogical it might be to some.

For what it s worth, I agree with this entirely. We need to keep the old teams for now, along with the old spirit. That s what this is; an update to the data 20 years on.Sticking with the same logic (and I really do understand why China ticks a lot of boxes).

hey, how often we played with teams from el salvador just for fun? its like good and evil: there must be both.
Struggling with info on Taiwan league squads...
imagine how pain-in-the-ass it must have been 20 years ago to find some data about el salvador or taiwan...
